Yes absolutely. Confidentiality is a critical element in the counselling process. However, there are some exceptions that, by law, as a professional I am obliged to report, as in when requested by a court of law, or if I become aware that you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or yet if you consent to share your records with other professional.

No, hypnosis doesn’t put you to sleep nor take control over your mind or will.
You will be aware of what the therapist says as you are totally present. The focused state enables the therapist to tap into your subconscious mind and make positive suggestions to thought patterns, habits or the negative effects of traumatic incidents.
